Film “Koragajja”: Producer Gifts Luxury Flat to Director Sudheer Attavar

2 min read

Koragajja, directed by Sudheer Attavar, was all set for release last January and had a grand audio launch under the Zee Music banner. However, at the last moment, the team suddenly announced the big news of converting the film to 3D, postponing its release.

Currently, the 3D work of the film is progressing rapidly in Kochi and Chennai. “The film is shaping up to be technically on par with any international standard cinema,” said director Sudheer Attavar. Delighted by the growing interest from international distribution agencies, producer Trivikrama Sapalya has gifted director Sudheer Attavar — who has worked tirelessly for the past three years to bring the film to this level — a luxury three-bedroom flat by Shobha Developers worth a market value of around ₹1.75 crore, expressing his deep admiration for both the film and the director.

The film, already being prepared in six languages, has now added Assamese, Chinese, and English versions as well.

On Friday, the Griha Pravesha ceremony of the new flat was held, followed by a Sri Satyanarayana Vratha Puja. On Sunday, an Agelu Seve ritual for Koragajja Daiva — quite rare in Bengaluru — was performed in the presence of journalists and guests.

Veteran actress Bhavya offered delicacies dear to Koragajja Daiva’s Agelu Seve: kuchalakki rice, horse gram–basale sambar, mackerel fish curry, tender mango pickle, chicken sukka, toddy, and more, arranged in a gerase. The director’s wife, Rajashree Sudheer, prepared all the dishes, while producer Trivikrama Sapalya and executive producer Vidyadhar Shetty assisted Bhavya.

Speaking at the press meet, actress Bhavya said, “Koragajja has made me even more devoted to Daiva. I’ve been part of all the film’s events and have stood by the team like an inseparable member. In the film, I played ‘Rani Panjandaayi’, who performs the first-ever Agelu Seve to Koragajja. Now, in real life, the director has given me the fortune of performing Agelu Seve to Koragajja in his newly gifted flat. Perhaps no one in this film is as fortunate as I am.”

Producer Trivikrama Sapalya happily shared that the film is also being dubbed in Chinese. “International distribution agencies from Hong Kong, Beijing, and other places are coming forward to release the film abroad. Though the film’s budget has crossed ₹40 crore, our commercial confidence and joy are only growing. As a mark of this, I’m gifting this flat to the director who has worked on this film for the last 3 years,” he said. Executive producer and editor Vidyadhar Shetty added that preparations are underway for an August release.
