Tinnu Anand will receive Life Time Achievement Award at the Rajasthan International Film Festival 2024

The 10th edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) organized by RIFF Film Club and recognized by the Federation of Film Society of India (North Region) will be held from 27 to 31 January 2024 at The Gem Cinema, MI Road, Jaipur, with the theme “Youth and Film Heritage”

Somendra Harsh, the Founder of Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) said that this year Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) Life Time Achievement Award will be given to eminent actor, director, producer, writer Tinnu Anand . Life Time Achievement Award is given every year in RIFF to a personality from the film world who has dedicated his entire life to cinema.

Tinnu Anand is a well-known name in Indian cinema . Apart from being an excellent actor, Tinnu Anand is also a great director and writer and has been involved in the cine world for a very long time . Tinnu Anand brought the film ‘Shahenshah’ in 1988 starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role . After this film, Amitabh Bachchan was called the ‘Shahenshah’ of the industry . Tinnu Anand was born in 1945 in Bombay in the family of one of the best writers of Hindi cinema, Inder Raj Anand. Tinnu Anand did his schooling from Mayo School, Ajmer, Rajasthan.

Tinnu Anand learned the art of filmmaking in Bengali cinema as an assistant director to Satyajit Ray for five years . As an assistant director, Tinu Anand worked on Bengali films ranging from Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne (1969), Aranyer Dinratri (1970), The Adversary (1970), Seemabaddha 1971) to Ashani Sanket ( 1973). In the film Jalal Agha, Tinnu Anand got his first chance to act. This film had Sarika, Naseeruddin Shah and Amol Palekar in the lead roles, the character of Tinnu Anand was liked very much and it was also highly appreciated by the critics. As an actor, Tinnu did many films in his career, which included films like Pushpak, Agneepath, Khiladi, Chamatkar, Diljale, Kabhi Na Kabhi, Saat Rang Ke Sapne, Ghajini , Agali Aur Pagli, De Dana Dan, Dabangg, Masoon, Damini, Anjaam and many more.

Recently Tinnu Anand has acted in films like Sita Ramam , Salaar and Merry Christmas .

 Last year, this honor was given to Jaipur’s famous writer Hasrat Jaipuri posthumously in 2015, famous singer and music director Bappi Lahiri in the year 2016, Rajasthan’s famous actress and singer Ila Arun in the year 2017, famous actor Om Puri in the year 2018 , Film producer Kamal Kumar Barjatya in the year 2019, famous film director and editor Rahul Rawail in the year 2020, famous music director Dilip Sen in the year 2021, famous film director and writer N Chandra in the year 2022 and famous actor Parikshit Sahni in the year 2023.

Managing Trustees of RIFF Film Club and Founders of Rajasthan International Film Festival, Somendra Harsh and Anshu Harsh said, “This year, the 10th edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) will be held with the theme “Youth and Film Heritage” and the film festival will be organized from 27th to 31st January at Gem Cinema, MI Road, Jaipur, where apart from the film screening, Open forums, workshops and talk shows will also be organized . The grand event of RIFF Award Night 2024 will be held on 31 January 2024 at The Gem Cinema, MI Road, Jaipur.
