The 11th edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) 2025 will take place from February 1 to February 5.
Karanvir Bohra will be awarded with the Pride of Rajasthan Award at the RIFF Awards Night, to be held at the historic Mehrangarh Fort on 5th February 2025
National – 22nd January 2025 : The Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF), accredited by the Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) North Region, will be having it’s 11 edition along with the support of Mehrangarh Museum Trust from February 1 to 5, 2025 at INOX PVR, Ansal Royal Plaza & Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur. This year’s festival will feature the theme “CINEMASTHAN – A Panorama of Cinema in Rajasthan.” The event will also mark a decade of RIFF’s successful journey in promoting cinema in Rajasthan
Founder and Festival Director of Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF), Somendra Harsh, announced that this year, the prestigious RIFF Pride of Rajasthan Award will be bestowed upon Jodhpur’s very own Karanvir Bohra. The award is annually given to a film industry personality with roots in Rajasthan who has made remarkable achievements in cinema and television at both national and international levels.
Born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Karanvir Bohra has carved a distinct identity in Bollywood and television through his hard work and talent. Karanvir began his acting career as a child artist in the 1990 film “Tejaa,” but he gained significant recognition after stepping into the television industry. His first TV show, “Just Mohabbat,” featured a small yet impactful role, followed by his breakout performance as Prem Basu in “Kasautii Zindagii Ki” Over the years, Karanvir has showcased his versatile acting skills in several popular TV shows, including “Shararat,”“Dil Se Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava,”“Naagin 2,” and “Qubool Hai.” He also participated in reality shows such as “Nach Baliye 4,”“Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6,” and “Bigg Boss 12.”
Karanvir has earned numerous accolades, including the Indian Telly Awards,Gold Awards, Dada Saheb Phalke Award and Star Parivaar Awards. Additionally, he also worked in several web series like “The Casino: My Game, My Rules,”“Bhanwar,” and “Locked in Love.” Karanvir also made a mark with his film “Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna,” where he not only delivered a compelling performance but also produced the movie.
Karanveer’s family originally hails from the city of Jodhpur and has been associated with the film industry for a long time. His grandfather, Mr. Ramkumar Bohra, was a renowned producer in Indian cinema. He produced several acclaimed films, including Amrapali, Naya Rasta, Shart, Insaniyat, and Aasman, which remain memorable to this day. Mr. Ramkumar Bohra made significant contributions to the film industry during his time and served as the president of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPA) for 20 years.Karanveer’s father, Mahendra Bohra, is also actively involved in film production, continuing his father’s legacy. Their family maintains a strong identity in the Indian film industry.
Staying deeply connected to his roots, Karanvir incorporates Rajasthan’s culture and values into his work. He proudly represents the state while celebrating its rich traditions and heritage.
Since the inception of Pride of Rajasthan award at the Rajasthan International Film Festival, it was given to film actor Prashantt Guptha in 2015, Drishyam Films founder Manish Mundra in 2016, Ishka Films founder Priti Rathi Gupta in 2017, film director Sawan Kumar Tak in 2018, actor Ashish Sharma in 2019, film producer Gulab Singh Tanwar in the year 2020, film producer Om Chhangani in the year 2021, Sanjeev Goenka in the year 2022 , film distributor Raj Bansal in the year 2023 and Actress Iti Acharya in the year 2024.
The Managing Trustee of RIFF Film Club and Founder & Festival Director of RIFF, Mr. Somendra Harsh, said that the Opening Ceremony of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) 2025 will take place on February 1, 2025, at INOX PVR, Ansal Royal Plaza in Jodhpur. This year, Black Box arena will be set up wherefilms of Viewing Room – RIFF Film Market will be available for all five days. Following this, from February 2 to 5, 2025, film screenings, open forums, workshops, and talk shows will also be held at INOX PVR, Ansal Royal Plaza. Like every year, film screenings at RIFF 2025 will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, free of charge. Additionally, RIFF 2025 will also have film stalls and exhibitions where audiences, especially students, can attend for free.The Grand Closing Ceremony and RIFF Award Night 2025 will be held on February 5, 2025, at Jai Pol, Mehrangarh Fort, and Chokhelao Mahal Terrace in Jodhpur.
